PC Performance Issues Reported
Good afternoon,
A week ago I was playing Remnant 2 and observed a significant drop in frames per second, together with frequent stuttering. I tried several other games like Cyberpunk and Wo long, and the same problems appeared.
At the time, I bought my PC pre-built during a GPU shortage and have since upgraded both the graphics card and power supply.
Here are my system details:
Windows: 11
CPU: i9-12900kf
GPU: 4090
Motherboard: Asus Prime z690-P D4
RAM: 2x 16 GB Tforce
PSU: Corsair RM1000x
AIO: Deepcool Castle 240ex
Case: Lian Li Dynamic PC-o11
Fans: 9 generic units (brand uncertain)
After some benchmarks, it’s clear my PC is underperforming compared to others with similar hardware.
In terms of troubleshooting, I’ve tried:
- Updating the BIOS
- Removing and reinstalling Nvidia drivers
- Reinstalling all available software from Asus Armory
- Resetting the entire system (which caused frustration)
My latest timespy results are still far from optimal.
I’m not very experienced with PCs, so I’m unsure how to interpret the benchmark results or diagnose issues effectively.
A benchmark run on Nova showed my CPU score was half what others achieved, suggesting a potential problem.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. I’m new to the forum, so please check if I missed anything important.
Thank you in advance!
I think the CPU is being cooled adequately. In my Timespy Benchmark it seems to reach 60 degrees Celsius. I’m not sure if there are other benchmarks I could use, but with my reset all my games performed consistently.
I noticed on my armory crate dashboard the CPU fan speeds were fluctuating.
Regarding XMP, I’ll need to check how to enable it quickly.
I just turned on XMP and performed a fresh benchmark:

It seems it's still underperforming significantly.
Could this be related to the fan or cooling system?
It seems that my Power settings in the control panel were originally "Power Saver." I switched them to "High Performance," and here are my latest results:
