PC occasionally fails to power on completely?
Hello
Occasionally my parents' PC fails to power on. The power button is pressed but nothing happens—no sound or lights appear. I've changed the case power switch and also the surge protector, yet the issue continues. The monitor connected to the surge protector works fine. When the PC cable is unplugged and reinserted into the same socket on the surge protector, it powers up after pressing the power button. Once the PC is running, it functions properly, even for basic web browsing. The PSU (Seasonic S12II Bronze 430W) was purchased in 2017. Should I just swap it out, or are there other factors to check?

It could be the PSU, but it could also be the motherboard. Personally, I wouldn't spend money trying to fix it when you have a workable solution.
Does the PC need to be shutdown rather than put in sleep mode? If you do put it to sleep, does it startup when you push the power button?
When PC is connected without the surge protector, it experiences issues over time, especially during sudden reactions. They become less effective and more prone to misinterpreting the PSU as a high surge situation.
