PC makes a buzzing sound once the new CPU fan is set up.
Hello, Your computer keeps emitting a sharp sound that distracts your attention. This began after you added a new CPU fan since the previous one was underpowered and overheating, causing crashes during games. I’m unsure of the exact issue. Everything seems to function normally now, but the ringing persists. I tried adjusting the BIOS settings to silence the CPU warning alert, yet the noise continues. The beep pattern appears as one sound every five seconds. It could be related to the fan operation or another component. The PC parts listed are: Intel i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 MHz, 8 cores, 16 logical processors; a MPG Z390M GAMING EDGE AC motherboard with 32GB RAM; Phantom Spirit 120 SE fan from Corsair; and a 275R airflow case with tempered glass.
Did you verify the new fan is connected to the CPU fan connector on the motherboard? Make sure it’s at the top, right next to the CPU socket. If it’s on one of the headers on the side after the RAM, your setup might be misconfigured.
It connects to that specific unit. Additionally, because my new cooler has two fans, it came with a splitter so I could utilize both fans through a single port.
Have you verified the fans are displaying RPMs in the BIOS? Didn’t you notice no beeps in your recording—just a loud fan noise? Consider removing the splitter from the equation, plug one fan (the front one) into another header, or leave it unplugged for testing. This might affect the results. Also, check if a tool like HWMonitor shows CPU fan speeds in Windows.
