PC loses internet link unexpectedly on Wi-Fi network.
I'm dealing with a really annoying problem on my PC. It's connected to a Comcast gateway via WiFi in my home, since we don't have a dedicated wired network. For the past weeks, I've experienced intermittent internet outages lasting around 30 seconds, mainly affecting my computer. When the connection drops, online programs or games freeze and stop responding. Discord appears as if connected, but voice and text fail, then it loops trying to disconnect and reconnect. In online games like The Division, a similar issue occurs—connection drops cause lag and network errors until I reconnect. Recently, while downloading Far Cry 5, the WiFi status showed no packets received, only a few sent, and both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity reported "No internet access." It seems the connection reset itself, switching back on after a short time. If anyone knows what might be causing this, any advice would be greatly appreciated. The Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A adapter is on my ASUS X99 Gaming board, running Windows 10 Home 64-bit version 1709, build 16299.309. I've attached a picture of the WiFi status window and noted that I also use Google DNS; it seems unrelated to the problem.
