The issue involves my PC failing to remain powered off; after a few seconds of inactivity it restarts itself. Right now I have to turn it off completely and then manually switch on the power supply before it powers up again. System details: Windows 11 Home 64bit, version 23H2. Hardware: Gigabyte B650E Aorus Master (AM5), BIOS f21a. Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 64GB (2x32GB), DDR5-6000 CL30, GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC GeForce RTX 4090, Storage: two 4TB Kingston Fury Renegade drives. Power supply: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 13 1300W. No other components seem to affect the problem, but I'm open to more suggestions. Current software status: no errors or unusual messages; it appears to boot normally after shutdown. What matters most is whether the short shutdown periods trigger the restart. I've tried disabling fast boot, checking device manager, and verifying BIOS settings for LAN wake options. If you could share any related driver updates or experiences, that would be really useful. I'm willing to experiment with fixes and will keep a clear record of what I try and what succeeds or fails. Please let me know if anything else comes up. Thanks!

Remove all front panel connectors and power them off by shorting the power pins with a screwdriver. Test again without any connection to the front panel header—it might indicate a bad power switch.

Unfortunately, it didn't appear to have an impact.

Execute sfc /scannow in troubleshooting mode within the command prompt. Perform a checkdsk c: scan while it runs. Remove the latest Windows feature update. Restore chipset drivers.

It's there under safemode, but since it was clean already, no need to fuss. I favor TS mode because nothing loads and often it reappears with errors that can't be fixed—files are locked. It's best to address it as soon as you encounter an issue. The latest feature update won't help either; keep waiting.

I realize now that this will help me avoid delays in fixing things next time. I reinstalled the chipset, but the issue keeps happening.

Your bio appears current, but I attempted to reduce its version. It seems to be running either F8 or F20. Regarding the fastboot setting, it wasn't disabled in BIOS, Windows, or vice versa—it depends on your specific configuration.

I've only made minor changes to the bios (probably from version F7 before this)—that was my final attempt at a Hail Mary. It seems unrelated to any version-specific issues. I've double-checked and it's turned off in Windows, with high confidence it's also disabled in BIOS (I'll verify again after a restart).

This began some time ago. Have you disabled sleep or hibernation settings in Powermanagement? Also, are you checking the BIOS?
