PC keeps restarting
Hello,
I’ve been facing a rather intriguing issue lately. It began after upgrading to Windows 11 and playing a newly released remastered version of Ark: Survival Ascended. Since the game launched, I anticipated some problems, but it actually crashed several times.
However, on the second day I played, my entire PC would restart automatically. I reviewed the Windows logs and found an error labeled Logger-WHEA-46, mentioning a RAM fault. Initially, I suspected overheating, but the CPU and GPU temperatures stayed below 75 degrees. Then I considered that the chipset drivers might be the culprit, so I updated my BIOS, reinstalled Windows 10, updated the chipset drivers, and even turned off the PC for a day.
The following day, after playing Elden Ring for about three hours without any issues, I restarted the PC again right before completing the Windows 10 installation. That’s when I decided to perform a fresh clean install of Windows 10. But this time the PC would restart very close to finishing the installation.
Feeling overwhelmed, I ordered replacement parts from Amazon. The main suspects were the RAM, motherboard, and power supply unit. The parts arrived today, and I began installing them one by one. First I replaced the RAM, but it didn’t fix the problem. Then I swapped out the whole motherboard, but the PC still restarted. After changing the PSU, power cable, and outlet, I even used the same ATX motherboard cable as the new PSU didn’t work. Finally, I turned on the PC and started the Windows installation, but it kept restarting.
I’m running out of options and am considering giving up. If you have any suggestions or insights on why this is happening, I’d really appreciate your help.
My thoughts are that the CPU might be malfunctioning or the ATX power cable for the motherboard could be faulty, but neither seems very likely to me.
Please let me know. 😭
