Pc keeps freezing
I purchased a new computer about a month ago and this problem is now occurring regularly... When I use my browser, the PC often freezes for around 10 seconds. For example, when switching tabs or opening a new one, it happens. Could anyone assist me?

Launch Windows in Safe Mode. This mode runs a minimalized version of the operating system, loading only essential services and drivers. Usually, no additional third-party software is installed. As a result, you won’t be able to perform any meaningful tasks, especially gaming, and many devices might not function correctly due to missing drivers. For instance, your screen may appear at low resolution because it’s using the basic Windows display driver.
Safe Mode offers stability since it contains only Microsoft components, making it reliable for troubleshooting. If you still experience issues in this mode, the problem likely lies with a third-party driver or service not loaded there. Another method can then be used to identify the faulty service or driver.
When does this happen? Often when you first boot up your computer, there is an antivirus scan that can slow things down; right click on the taskbar and chose Task Manager". Check under Processes/Apps and Startup Apps that may be running and keep an eye on the drive led, which shows when the drive is working.
You also mentioned the Ethernet, I assume you mean your Internet connection. Is there a reason your Internet speed could be lagging? Is this a recent continuous issue, or is it intermittent? If you share a connection with someone else and they are simultaneously using the connection that can also slows things down. I would certainly look into your Internet speed, if it is an issue, find out if your connection is being throttled, and also determine when you're Windows updates or other files are being are being downloaded.
It occurred recently, perhaps a week ago, maybe only a week. My mom doesn’t have the same issue 😭 It seems to happen by itself and is unpredictable. One moment everything works fine, the next it’s like you’re running a 10-year-old computer at 5 frames per second. The receive signal spikes when there’s lag, which is why I thought it was an Ethernet problem.
