I've been trying to fix this for a while and still can't find a solution. My PC suddenly switched into BIOS instead of launching normally. I haven't done any physical changes or forced actions. Quitting BIOS just restarts it again. Restoring defaults didn't help either. I've also checked all external devices, tried a hard restart, and unplugged everything, but nothing works. I can't access my PC for days now. I built this system a few years back without any problems until recently. Any suggestions would be really useful since I need to stay productive! Details: MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk Wifi MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 8GB LHR graphics, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, processor, Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD, 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 drive. Updated Sep 16, 2023.

You’re not receiving any warnings before starting BIOS, are you? Have you verified the SSD works on another machine to confirm its status? Did you ever refresh the firmware? What amount of free space does the SSD display?

My storage is the boot drive. I haven’t tested it elsewhere since I only have a Microsoft Surface Pro, so I’m unsure if it works there. I haven’t changed the firmware before. In the Device List under BIOS, the SSD appears as M2_1: Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB Size: 1000.2GB. That seems correct.

Have you thought about using a Windows installation USB to attempt a fix on the drive? It might be that the boot partition was damaged in some way.

Ensure Intel Rapid Storage Technology is disabled. This stops an SSD boot drive from functioning.
