PC issues with microphone and other audio inputs.
I've connected an Asus B660 plus with a motherboard and still can't get any sound working. It works with both a 3.5mm mic and Bluetooth headphones. The mic uses a 4'ring connector, but it appears in Device Manager and the control panel as an audio input. I've set it as the default device, updated the drivers, and confirmed it's not muted. Both devices function on my laptop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
When it matches the image description, '4-ring' (4-Pole) indicates it's either a stereo or a modified 3.5mm with L/R via mic and a shared ground. You might need an adapter. Your laptop likely already has a built-in mic that auto-recognizes this. Updated September 17, 2022 by An0maly_76 Added more details
