Hello, recently I got a complimentary i7 13th gen CPU at an event and wanted to upgrade quickly. I chose the Z690 AORUS Elite DDR4 board because my old motherboard was outdated and I had used an AMD processor before. In my first few days, everything seemed normal—Windows installed, drives updated, BIOS refreshed. Sometimes the screen would lag briefly when playing games or watching YouTube for about a second, then everything returned. These issues were unpredictable, happening randomly for a few hours or up to ten minutes. I ran some tests and the results suggest my motherboard might be corrupted or improperly seated, even though it worked well initially. I didn’t think it was a RAM problem since I’d replaced previous sticks and had 16GB of RAM, which should handle many games. It’s also possible the GPU was limiting performance, but I don’t usually play heavy games and still experienced slowdowns even at 480p. This isn’t a critical problem for now, but it’s something I won’t want to face in the future.
