Hey, I just experienced a power surge while using my PC. It shut down normally at first, but when I tried to turn it back on, nothing happened. I also changed the settings, but nothing worked.
If the new power strip or outlet isn't working, the PSU might be faulty (or there could be other issues, but that seems likely to be a PSU).
No connection to the internet before or during the blackout impacts your ability to restart your PC once the power returns, as the surge might disconnect it afterward. Reconnecting it after a short wait usually resolves the problem.
Your power source likely didn’t make it through the spike. How does your computer behave once you connect it and press the start button?
Even though the situation seems grim, it gives a bit of optimism. Just because the PSU failed doesn’t necessarily mean all other parts were destroyed. If the PSU was at least functional, it probably shielded the remaining components, and it’s possible that only the PSU itself was affected.
