Hey there! I have a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and a Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite board. I'm running it with 32GB of Kingston RAM in Crucial P3 storage, powered by an LYNX PSU. The case is fine too. This PC has been running for over three months.

I stayed away from the house for two days. When I got back and turned the PC on like usual, I heard a loud noise that sounded like a cable was stuck in a fan. But when I looked inside, there was no cable. I tried again, and it started up, but now there is no screen. I see a red light on my CPU that says "CPU" on the motherboard. The front panel power button works to turn things on, but if you hold it down, nothing happens (it shouldn't turn off when held).

I've already tried using just one stick of RAM, reseating the parts, and repasting the CPU. I also reset my CMOS by taking the computer apart and shorting the pins. I even unplugged all the unused hard drives and CD-ROMs. Now I'm really stuck here. What should I do? Is something broken?

Do you think this could happen even when the motherboard lights show up and the PC starts? I thought this might be true at first, because a loud noise usually means the GPU is failing, not the PSU. The fans were spinning well on boot, so it didn't sound like that part was broken either. That left me wondering if the power supply just blew itself or if it wasn't sending enough power to the right components.

It might be possible for a PSU to give you less power than it's supposed to, especially when it gets hot or blows. Maybe that's what "overload" means in plain words. If you have another power supply nearby with the same wattage rating, try switching out this one and see if it still works.

I am planning to buy a fresh one next day and send it back if it doesn't work, thank you very much for that idea.
