Thanks for your response. I also picked up some points from that video about Jay using his old, dried-up pads. This only made his temperatures rise slightly. My system doesn’t even start properly. I know my temps could get worse if I don’t replace them, but they’ll only increase during use. The pads here are still moist and flexible, unlike his. It seems the adhesive on the die is what’s dried out.
It seems there was a motherboard problem. I brought the computer to a local shop, but they replaced the components with their own. The new parts caused the same issue. They installed my original parts on a test board from their lab, which functioned perfectly. Still puzzled about how this occurred just by removing and reinserting the GPU.
It's definitely odd... but you need to be cautious when handling a PC. Some motherboard components can be easily damaged if not handled properly.
