Hello, I recently started a fresh build using some components I found and a used i9 12900k with a Z690-a motherboard I acquired at a low cost. Before purchasing, I made sure the processor was properly seated to check for bent pins. After assembling the system and installing Windows, I was just reinstalling Steam when my PC shut down abruptly and immediately restarted back into the login window. I’ve been working on resolving this issue for about three days now and would value any advice.

What I’ve tried so far:
- Removed the GPU and RAM (switched to a verified replacement) and booted cleanly.
- Swapped out the power supply.
- Disabled automatic system restarts in Windows and set power preferences to performance mode.
- Reinstalled Windows multiple times (versions 11 and 10).
- Turned off the Microsoft Customer Experience program, which appeared last before the restart in Event Viewer.
- Updated BIOS and reset CMOS.
- Installed all available drivers and updated Windows 11 several times.

Additional information:
- This issue occurs roughly every 30 minutes.
- It can happen during the Windows installation process after disconnecting from the USB drive.
- No critical failures were logged in Event Viewer prior to power cycles.
- Before any removal, the system had the following specs:
I9-12900k
Z690-a MSI motherboard
Asus RX 2070 OC
32 GB Vengeance RGB Pro (16x2)
Nzxt AIO cooler
I’ve used two separate M.2 drives:
- An SKhynox 512 GB from an older prebuilt unit
- A Samsung 860 Eco 500 GB

Am I in trouble?

The one,
and probably most important
, part you did not list is the PSU.
Make/model, please.

Are there any high-power devices operating every half hour? A significant power drop might cause a restart.

Sorry about that
I initially used a 650 evga supernova, then switched to a Corsair RM750e (750w).

No, the device is located in my room, connected to the wall and powered by just a few lamps there. Additionally, my room features its own circuit breaker.

The PSU comes with a seven-year warranty. The shutdown procedure involves a complete power cut, but it appears Windows manages the transition to ensure stability.

It appears to be a complete power-down and I obtained the PSU three days ago for testing
