Hey, two days ago my PC powered on but only displayed a black screen with no output. I turned it off and back on, then checked the BIOS. After that, it worked properly throughout the day. Yesterday, when I tried to turn it on again, it started up but again showed a black screen. Turning it off and back on didn’t help. I cleaned it a bit to check for issues, but nothing appeared wrong. When I restarted it, it functioned normally for the whole day. Today, no matter what I do, it still doesn’t work. I tried using the iGPU, but that didn’t fix the problem. It seems the motherboard is stuck on the VGA LED and now also on the DRAM LED. I think this board might be beyond repair.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! The motherboard appears to be stuck on the VGA output, now it also freezes when trying to connect the DRAM output. It might be that your processor or the integrated memory controller has failed. This situation could mean the motherboard is beyond repair. To confirm, you should transfer your processor, RAM, GPU, and power supply onto another functional motherboard with the appropriate BIOS version and observe if the problem continues. Also, check if your case needs a PCIe riser cable—does the system boot without it and when the discrete GPU is connected?

Thanks for your response!
I don’t have a functional motherboard, which makes it hard to confirm if the other parts are faulty.
Because the case requires a riser, I can’t test the GPU directly connected to the board without removing components. Still, I think I’ll need to do that eventually to file a return. I’ll let you know soon after testing.

I don’t have a functional motherboard, so I can’t confirm if the other parts are faulty.
You should borrow these components or bring the system to a nearby shop that has access to replacement parts for troubleshooting.
Purchasing parts just to fix issues will only drain your money.
Because of the case’s riser requirement, I can’t test the GPU directly connected to the motherboard without removing internal components.
Try setting it up on a breadboard.

What CPU cooler are you employing?
While setting up the system, did you verify that all the power connectors (4-pin, 8-pin, and 24-pin) were securely fastened to both the motherboard and the PSU?
Additionally, did you perform tests without the GPU installed, just using the integrated GPU?

I made sure everything was correct, actually I just tried again after double checking the connections—it still gets stuck during boot. I only connected the 8 and 24-pin connectors, probably the 4-pin next to the 8-pin is what gives extra power (and hasn’t been needed before). I tested both GPU and iGPU. Thanks for taking the time to help me, I really appreciate it.

When you took out the motherboard from the case, did you observe any bending or flexing of it around the CPU? You’re checking if the cooler might have been tightened too much. It seems you’ve also checked the memory and tried the other slots—correct?

Can’t detect any bending. I attempted using a single memory stick and various slots, but it’s still not working. Also, if the cooler was over-tightened earlier, wouldn’t that have caused problems? To confirm, I slightly loosened the screws and tried again, but that didn’t help either.

Did you ever adjust the CPU, GPU, or RAM before now? Have you changed the motherboard BIOS settings during any repair attempts?
