PC has trouble starting the POST and VGA light, but it sometimes functions after a power reset.
Recently my computer failed to start up and the VGA indicator appeared on the motherboard. I managed to get it to boot by powering it off and then quickly turning it back on with the power switch on the PSU. This approach sometimes works (may need several cycles). After the PC started, everything functioned normally without any issues. I've tried other GPUs such as a GTX 1080 and an 8500gt, which also allowed proper startup. Is my 2070s just failing? Specifications: R5 5600 Asus Prime B550 Plus, BIOS version 3404 (latest), Asus RTX 2070 Super, 16GB DDR4 3600 MHz, 750W EVGA 80 Plus Bronze PSU. I've attempted various fixes: removed GPU to another slot, updated BIOS, reset BIOS settings, disabled XMP profiles, reinserted RAM, reconnected GPU cables, used different monitors and cables (HDMI and DisplayPort), and enabled Erp (S4 + S5) in BIOS. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
If it only uses the iGPU or another video card, your 2070 isn't completely dead but likely contributing to the issue. This is because you mention it sometimes works and others don’t. You might also consider the motherboard as a possibility, though other cards seem fine. I recommend testing it on another system to confirm. It seems like a graphics card upgrade might be necessary.
