I'm also taken aback by this! My thoughts have been lingering on these findings. You can see that while MOBAs are popular, they often drop when comparing across different genres. When considering what matters most to players—balance and a finished product—they tend to be at the top. It wouldn't surprise me if some gamers enjoy MOBAs because they feel well-balanced and refined, whereas shooters consistently rank high but see top shooters released in somewhat incomplete or unbalanced versions over the years (my take from COD/BF series). Take COD: AW for PC, which just launched. It's by far the best COD on PC since MW2, yet it still faces issues like lag compensation that plague all CODs since COD4. Every time I play, I quickly lose to an opponent who appeared briefly before a killcam reveals me for three seconds—long enough to clear his entire clip. The PC community has been very vocal and direct with Activision about needing dedicated servers for years, but these demands keep getting ignored. I haven't seen the recent AMA on Reddit, but it was quite frustrating. Everyone asked about dedicated servers, yet the representative just sidestepped the questions.
