I recently purchased a new gaming PC around two months ago, but honestly I’m feeling quite disappointed with the investment. The main issues stem from the lack of friends who own gaming PCs—most are stuck with PS3 or PS4 models. Additionally, I tend to lose interest in games quickly, especially when playing solo. I’d really like to have a PS4 soon, as it would be more enjoyable after a long school day. It offers a more relaxed experience compared to using a mouse and keyboard, which I find less comfortable but more precise for gaming. The PC feels superior and stylish with its side-mounted window, while the PS4 would suit my lifestyle better. Currently, I play games on my PC occasionally—about 6 to 9 hours a week—but mostly alone. Now I’m stuck here, looking at my £900 gaming machine and wishing I’d chosen a PS4 instead.

You can connect a PC to a TV and use a controller, but I understand why you prefer keeping your consoles. There are games and times when you really want to step away from everything digital. If you had real friends, you’d probably choose the PS4 instead.

Don't dwell on the incorrect choice, acquiring a PC isn't a bad move, and not bringing your friends online isn't the problem.

They could wait for a solid computer before playing games like TF2

I understand it could be a big change, but selling your PC would let you buy a new console like a PS4 and save some money. Alternatively, you might connect with communities in the games you enjoy and build friendships there. That’s how the gaming world functions for me—I make connections through the games I play and we team up across titles, it’s really special!

It's true that many aren't ready to invest such a large sum for a new computer.

It's disappointing, but the setup is essentially new which means you can resell it with minimal or no cost. Do your friends plan to purchase individual units?

If I sell my PC, I might not get the price I paid and could lose money. I could keep using it and the games whenever I like, maybe getting a PS4 next summer if I can afford it, or I might wait for the slim version of the console and buy that instead.

The key to joining the PC Master Race lies in money. You can find a computer that surpasses a console for slightly less cost, plus the perks of the internet and other cool features.
