I just reviewed the Linus Tech Tip video from June 2020 about playing games on LINUX. I’m curious if LINUX can run older Windows titles like Command & Conquer or Baldur’s Gate.

Have you checked protondb.com? Linus talked about it in a video... It can indicate if a game (on Steam) works and whether extra adjustments are needed.

It's still feasible using a proton. You can simply add the game to Steam as an external program, and it should launch with Proton. Make sure to verify if this setup works for you.
