PC games failing to run as expected.
Greetings! I possess a desktop computer featuring a GeForce 1080 Ti and an Intel i7-7700, coupled with 16GB of DDR4 memory. I’ve been satisfied with the system's capabilities, but recently, while viewing a gaming setup at a retail store (utilizing a GeForce 1060 and an i5 processor), I observed impressive performance at maximum settings. A sales associate approached me, and we discussed Battlefield 5; I noted it performed better than Battlefield 1, to which he countered that he consistently achieves over 80 frames per second on Battlefield 1 at ultra settings in 1440p, using a 1080 card. This surprised me, as I usually obtain between 60 and 80 frames per second on ultra in 1080p. Would anyone be able to shed some light on this? Thank you!
Utilize tools like MSI Afterburner or similar monitoring software to observe your computer’s CPU, GPU, and RAM utilization during gameplay. This can help determine if any of these components are reaching their limits or nearing full capacity, potentially indicating a CPU-dependent issue. Furthermore, if the specific i5 processor is an 8th or 9th generation model, it’s likely to outperform an i7 7700 due to advancements in technology. Finally, be aware that individuals often tend to inflate their reported performance; the advertised 80+ frames per second might represent only a peak, with actual frame rates frequently dropping significantly below that level.
The graphics card is currently operating at 59 degrees Celsius with a utilization rate of 46%. The CPU is measuring 73 degrees Celsius and has reached 70% usage.
