PC game Metro Exodus experiencing stuttering issues.
PC game Metro Exodus experiencing stuttering issues.
Hello,
My computer’s specifications are: GTX 960 graphics card, Intel i5-4440 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 2 TB external hard drive, and a 500 GB internal hard drive. I am experiencing approximately 45 frames per second on medium settings at 1080 resolution. However, there’s significant stuttering occurring roughly every five seconds, which is extremely frustrating. Additionally, the screen occasionally freezes for over ten seconds when entering new rooms or areas. This issue was less pronounced while playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
I have attempted the following solutions:
* Installing the latest drivers
* Setting the game to high priority in Task Manager
* Adjusting the NVIDIA control panel and disabling my antivirus software.
Using MSI Afterburner, I observed that temperatures and CPU load are normal, but during stutter events, the GPU utilization drops to 0%. I suspect a connection between my older hard drive and the stuttering; I’m hesitant to purchase a $70 SSD solely for faster loading times.
Thank you.
I experience this exact issue as well, and I was considering creating a discussion about it on this platform. My system consists of an i5-4460 processor with 12GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 with 6GB of video memory. I consistently encounter pauses during gameplay, particularly in wide-open spaces. Performance degrades noticeably when moving to particular locations, such as the bridge featuring the trapped train in the Ural region. Could this be related to my quad-core CPU? Would upgrading to a more recent processor like a Ryzen 1700 resolve these stuttering problems?
