I own an old generic desktop with an amd 6300 processor – it’s outdated, but I use it for experimenting and learning. It tends to shut down, usually because the fans speed up first, then the system stops responding and finally powers off. Psensor reports the memory chips are at 99 degrees Celsius. Is there any method to confirm if this overheating comes from the memory itself or another component in the motherboard besides just replacing the memory? Since I recently cleared out unused parts, I don’t have a spare card on hand. It’s a slim chance...
