PC freezing issue
PC freezing issue
Hey everyone, just wanted to share my setup and what’s been happening. I have an i5 13400f, 4060ti with 16GB RAM, 32GB teamgroup elite DDR4, a B760M gaming X, Samsung EVO 870 1TB, and a Kingston 480GB SSD. The system runs at 11,700W with an Intel 80+ Gold power plan and deepcool CC360.
The issue is that my PC freezes randomly, though it doesn’t happen often. In the Event Viewer I see a WHEA event log entry. At first I thought it was due to an old motherboard, so I upgraded to the B760M gaming X. Now the freezes are much less frequent.
I’ve updated the BIOS, installed Intel MEI drivers, and refreshed all graphics card drivers. The GPU has been switched, PSUs tested, RAM checked with OCCT and MemTest86, CPU diagnostics ran fine, and I’m not sure what else might be causing it.
Also, I’m using Win 11 Pro without any XMP or OC settings on the CPU or GPU, and I’ve run hwinfo64 for voltage, current, and temperatures – everything looks normal.
Any tips would be super helpful!
Have you verified the Samsung 870 Evo’s condition using their magician app? You can scan for any issues there. If the drive was made before 2023, it might fail due to poor NAND manufacturing. The WHEA often highlights a specific hardware component in its report—look for an ID code that you can search up.
