PC freezing due to limited choices
i ha 2 M.2 and 1 SATA ssd. Have not checked if one of them can cause this problem or the one where the windows is located. Computer does not turn off by its own i have to force shutdown by pressing the power button. When the freeze happens there is no sound and screen picture just freezes in place All drivers shoud be up to date. So i have had this problem for a while now. In random time my pc just freezes and there is now errors or kernel info in event manager my quess is its about windows doing something to cause this freeze. And i really mean random times i dont even need to use it to happen it can happe even in sleep mode and lockscreen and idle things i have not tested that can cause this > my ssd i ha 2 M.2 and 1 SATA ssd. Are there any entries in the Event Viewer logs about crashes or freezes? If yes, share them or screenshots. You can also run Windows built-in repair from the recovery screen and retry. If that fails, reset the BIOS and try again. If needed, confirm XMP is disabled and proceed. Once resolved, we can move on to testing your hardware. It seems like a memory problem so far.

01-24-2021, 07:00 AM #4That sounds like C State issues... could try disabling them in BIOS Also, can you list the things you have tried? BIOS and driver updates? SFC/DISM? Chkdsk? SMART data? Temps? Stress tests? Memtest86? Linux USB?

GPU driver troubleshooting involves testing with a basic Microsoft driver; persistent freezes may point to Nvidia stack problems. The PSU appears solid (Strix 850W Gold), so physical connections are unlikely the cause unless cables are damaged. Ensure the GPU uses two separate 8-pin cables, not a chain connection. To quickly identify the issue: update BIOS and ME firmware, disable C-States, boot from just the Samsung 960 EVO drive while others are removed, and gradually reinstall drives to isolate the problem.
