My computer suddenly stopped working properly during gameplay about a month ago. I've checked all components and updated everything, but the only solution that worked was disabling TPM in the BIOS. Once I switched to the modified BIOS, the freezing stopped after startup, but it returned when I restarted my PC. This means I have to change the BIOS settings every time I want to play games without interruptions. Others have mentioned trying to turn off the "Global C-State" feature in BIOS, but that didn't help much. I suspect the problem is linked to TPM, as indicated by the Event Viewer and the "SCP Certification" error. Once TPM was turned off, the error disappeared, but the freezing continued. All system parts—BIOS, chipset drivers, Windows 11, GPU drivers—seem up to date, so it's not due to outdated software. I've also tried reverting BIOS and GPU driver versions, but nothing worked. Interestingly, I found that background downloads during games can trigger the freezing again. I checked my SSD for issues, but haven't identified anything. This issue is frustrating, especially since I noticed similar problems with AMD processors and TPM. I'm hoping someone can help me resolve this. Thanks in advance! — edited August 31, 2023 by demonicmelon

I restarted my PC yesterday just in case, but the issue still exists. I also tried ramtest86, but it didn’t help.

I'm trying to revisit this topic since I haven't found a resolution yet. Anyone have any progress or information?

Tbh... the details are a bit fuzzy. I get the problem, but it's hard to tell exactly what you did. Which operating system are you using? Are you talking about a software fix or a full reset, and if so, which one?

System details: R5 2600x 16GB, 3000mhz RTX 2060, 6gb RAM, Windows 11. I set up the PC (reinstalled Windows), but the problem persists. This is the main issue described here: https://community.amd.com/t5/processors/...630/page/4 The usual fix I found was disabling TPM in BIOS, but that didn’t resolve it. Edit: I’m unsure if this will help, but here’s what I’ve noticed. I get crashes most often in Baldur's Gate 3. While the game usually runs smoothly about 80% of the time, sometimes it freezes before acting normally. The audio cuts out suddenly, then characters start moving without animations. At that point I can move briefly, but it freezes completely afterward. I’ve also seen loading screen freezes in several titles. This led me to think the SSD might be the culprit—something I had installed around three weeks prior. It worked fine for the first three weeks, but now it’s the last hardware I added, so it could be related. The Event Viewer still shows these warnings and errors whenever I freeze with TPM enabled. Turning TPM off only gives two warning messages.

I’m still trying to resolve this problem. Recently, I realized the cause might be related to my SSD. After a few days without issues, I stopped playing for over an hour, but then today it froze during a loading screen while downloading another game. I’d noticed similar behavior before—games freezing when loading or downloading in the background. This made me think the storage drive was malfunctioning. I restarted the game and ran Steam in the background with Task Manager open on my second monitor. No problems so far. Then I played a YouTube video using a keyboard macro, and the PC crashed completely. Checking Task Manager showed my SSD usage spiking to 100%. I could recreate this issue. People often replace or re-seat SSDs, but Crystaldisk came up clean—so I assumed it was my CPU. I attempted the fixes in the article, but none worked. You’re welcome to try those steps yourself: https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/100...-10-fixed/. I’ll return with a different SSD and see if it helps.
