PC fails to upload after relocating within a two-foot distance...
Hey there, I experienced an issue with my PC after moving it slightly. Just before applying a Windows 10 update and shutting it down, the system froze after about 30 seconds. Once everything reconnected, it restarted but then stopped after roughly 10 seconds. After cleaning it up, I tried again and managed to get the POST lights to stay in a yellow/green state. The video output didn’t work even when I connected a bootable Windows USB. The LED still shows the same status without any video plugged in. I’m not sure what’s missing or what I should do next.
Thanks for the idea, but it didn’t quite work. It seems better to lift slightly while dragging the case; without the GPU it’s not posting well, and it looks like it’s almost stripped down to basic parts. I’ll try resetting the CMOS to see if that improves things.
Just shift it back, that should work. It seems like you might have disconnected the power cables before the update, right? You could enter safe mode. This is really confusing. The GPU power cords are still connected to the PSU and the GPU. You might also want to reset the CMOS if you haven't already. P.S.: Consider using a different hard drive to reinstall Windows or boot from a live Linux USB.
the gpu power cable remains inside the psu, i just took out the gpu port too; cmos didn’t work either. it’s still tough to pass the boot led, and without video output it’s really hard to get anything going. (yes, i double checked my hdmi—it still works with my laptop and monitor)
