PC fails to start into Windows following an update.
Details: CPU i7-12700k, Motherboard Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro, RAM Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600 MHz, GPU Gigabyte RTX 3080, Power Supply Seasonic 850W, Storage includes 500GB M.2 SSD (boot drive), 2TB 2.5" SSD, and 4TB HDD running Windows 11. Last night my PC would enter "Update and Shut Down" repeatedly before restarting normally. After power cycling, it restarts with BIOS options but the logo reappears briefly before going black. This occurs each time I force shutdown. I can access BIOS, suggesting the issue might lie elsewhere. Possible fixes: check boot drive health, try a different USB port, or test with another drive. Safe mode workaround not working as expected.
Enter troubleshooting mode and remove the latest Windows Update. After three crashes, it will automatically reinstall.
Windows will automatically start the self-repair after three failed boot attempts. If you still encounter the black screen, try using the USB drive with Windows repair tools. When you first set up Windows 11, did you generate a recovery media? If yes, insert the USB and choose it from BIOS, then restart. Here’s a helpful link. If you didn’t create the revocery drive, use another PC to do so. I assume you have access to another machine since you can connect online and share here. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...fab304c246
