Motherboard model: B450M PRO-VDH. CPU: Ryzen 5 5600. RAM setup: four sticks, two 8GB Lexar 3200mhz (no heatsink), one 16GB G.Skill 16GB Corsair, the other 16GB. Both 16GB are 3600mhz; one is CL16, the other CL18. No matter which pair I use, the system only boots in single-channel mode and even warns it’s not recommended. I've tried A2+B2, A1+B1 too. BIOS is up-to-date, CMOS cleared. In single-channel it showed 32GB RAM at 3600mhz with CL18 (based on Speccy). Any tips for dual-channel? It seems unnecessary but the PC still works fine otherwise.

You check the PC for issues like a misaligned or improperly secured heatsink, which is often the main cause. Damaged or faulty pins/pads are possible but more difficult to repair.

Are all four RAM slots functioning separately? Has your BIOS been updated to the most recent version?

Test at 3200Mhz using both cards simultaneously.

I'm working with gaming and video editing on Resolve, which are the most challenging activities. The game I play the hardest is Where Winds Meet. Each stick fits into two specific slots (A1, A2), but if I place them in B1 or B2, the PC won't start. The RGB lights on the sticks illuminate across all four slots. Once I move anything to the last two slots (B1, B2), the system fails to boot. I updated the BIOS but it didn’t help. Removing the CPU revealed no bent pins, and using my phone’s macro mode, I couldn’t see any damage.

It seems the motherboard might be defective. We'll assess the situation once we receive a replacement.

Other than the motherboard, the CPU is the main issue since RAM depends solely on these two parts
