PC fails to start despite having four RAM modules added.
Current setup: CPU is Ryzen 7 5800X3D, GPU is Radeon RX 6600XT, motherboard B450 Aorus Elite v2, RAM is four 8GB sticks at 3600MHz DDR4 from Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, power supply Thermaltake Smart SE 630W. The issue is that after buying a four-stick RAM upgrade, the PC won’t boot when all sticks are installed, but works with two. I’m checking if compatibility problems exist or if something is wrong with the hardware. I’ve tried testing each stick separately, checking RAM pairs, updating and reverting BIOS, and clearing CMOS.
Also consider purchasing a 2x16 kit as it's more affordable. You might also want to add a lighting kit for filling unused spaces. The 5800x3d model doesn't prioritize RAM performance, so options like 3200c16 or 3600c18 are fine. Just note that if the PSU is functioning properly, don't worry about replacing it regardless of those tier lists.
This might be the issue because I changed the thermal paste on my CPU after installing the new RAM, even though my case had been open for a while. I’m going to give it another shot and will let you know if anything differs.
Zen 3 doesn't accept 4x memory sticks. Bring back and receive 2x16.
It seems you're recalling something important. Let me help you remember it!
