I just received a new Seagate 6TB Barracuda drive. When I connected the SATA data cable, my PC wouldn’t boot into BIOS or display the splash screen. After turning it off and unplugging the cable, it worked normally. It looks like the drive was removed from the system—possibly a DOA drive. It seems to be making quite a lot of noise, but I’m not sure what’s going on. This feels like something went wrong during installation.

What additional devices are connected? Is there an NVMe storage unit present? Might the intention be to disable the m.2 port in order to access SATA connections? Where did you obtain the drive? Could its boot sector be causing confusion with the BIOS settings? Have you attempted to connect it while the system is active?

It seems the computer won't upload anything, but you can jump into the BIOS once the SATA cable is connected.

It seems the vehicle might not be working properly and there could be a safety issue. Where did you acquire this item?

found on amazon through seagates store, the packaging shows it was a scam. it was listed as part of a server setup, but someone bought a replacement drive, returned it broken, kept the new one, and claimed it didn’t need the original item.
