PC fails to respond despite GPU being linked to the initial PCIe expansion slot.
Hello there, After assembling this PC, I powered it on to check for a boot failure and the BIOS speaker reported a GPU error. When I swapped the card into the second slot, everything functioned properly. Thinking about a faulty motherboard, I sent it back and received a replacement. Once rebuilt, the same problem returned, but now the PC reached the screen prompting for BIOS entry. Pressing F2 displayed a black screen while the fans began to speed up. I tried several troubleshooting steps, including updating the BIOS and restricting the port to Gen 2, which was necessary for the system to display an image. The specs listed were: Ryzen 7 2700x, Asus Strix B450 E GTX 750ti, 16GB RAM, 3200MHz clock speed.
I think it might be a CPU problem due to pins not connecting properly. You could also try moving the GPU into the second slot for testing.
you should definitely try that, also check and make sure you didn't get any thermal goop in the socket or on the pins
I checked the details and confirmed it matches the same board and seller.
