I'm facing problems with my PC after installing new components and updating the BIOS. Despite testing multiple keyboards and confirming all parts are seated correctly, the system won't recognize the F5 key—even when using Fn + F5. The motherboard in question is an Asus ROG STRIX Z790-A Gaming + WiFi D4. I've made sure to follow the latest BIOS updates and verified everything is properly connected.

I attempted to resolve the issue by repositioning all components. The warning points to a USB problem, so I considered disconnecting everything. Would you have tried starting the system using just the keyboard connected directly to the motherboard?

I attempted solely with a keyboard, but it remains unresponsive. I don’t think the problem is related to USB connectivity because I successfully used the BIOS FlashBack feature via USB.

Did you just press the F5 key alone or did you also activate the function keys?

I tried both F5 and Fn + F5, but the issue persists.

What is the model of the power supply? If there is actually an overcurrent issue, that might be the source.

It’s not an actual mistake—it’s the AMI BIOS prompting you to apply default configurations. If F5 doesn’t respond, follow these steps: connect a wired USB keyboard (avoid wireless or hub-based connections), plug it into a USB 2.0 port on the motherboard, not USB 3.0. Reset CMOS by removing the battery for a few minutes if you can. Also test pressing F1 or DEL keys, as they may trigger BIOS setup on certain boards. If none of these work, the issue might be a BIOS bug that could be fixed by reflashing or downgrading.

Thanks for the guidance! I plan to exchange the motherboard. It seems I might have received a faulty one. After checking, the packaging and box were both damaged, which suggests it was already returned before.
