PC fails to power up without resetting the CMOS. Asus B450m board issue.
Hello, I encountered a peculiar issue with my PC. Previously, it would take several presses of the power button to start up. I’d sometimes hold it for a few seconds before releasing, then press it repeatedly until it turned on. Recently, it stopped responding to those actions, and now I need to use a screwdriver to reset the CMOS. Once that’s done, it powers up with just one button press. I’ve replaced the CMOS battery already, but the problem persists. I also attempted to update my BIOS to the newest version, yet it didn’t fix the matter. My system specs are as follows: Processor – AMD Ryzen 5 3600; Motherboard – Asus Prime B450M Gaming/BR SSD; Storage – WD Black SN750 500GB M.2 2280 NVMe; RAM – Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3200MHz; Power Supply – Corsair HX Series Modular HX750 750W 80 Plus Platinum; Graphics – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB. Thank you for your assistance and understanding.
