PC fails to power up once more (processor malfunction?)

After enjoying a pleasant dinner, my computer screen went dark. I assumed it was powering down, but it wouldn’t respond. The cooling fans were active and the DRAM LED lit up. I tried a forced reboot several times, but it didn’t work. I removed all RAM modules and tested them in every slot—no improvement. Once, it worked with just one stick, but then it crashed immediately afterward (screen displayed but system froze). The DRAM LED stays on whenever I turn the PC on, yet nothing progresses. I suspect the CPU may have failed after prolonged high usage. What additional steps could help?

The CPU is built to operate continuously at full capacity if the cooling system functions properly. The NH-D15 meets your CPU's needs. Have you attempted to discharge the CMOS battery for a short period?

CPUs can malfunction unexpectedly. I experienced a failure last year while using YouTube. Your symptoms seem similar to the one my 5800X had, suggesting your CPU might be dead as well. The advice I gave could be helpful—try it first.

I understand it shouldn't be this way, but I really had no other choice. My grandparents' old Intel Core 2 Duo kept working fine for about 20 years, except for slowdowns.

Never experienced a CPU failure in over 25 years, though I did encounter a GTX 260 malfunction while gaming. Such issues can occur due to manufacturing defects or other problems.
