PC fails to power up after installing a new CPU on an A320M grenade motherboard.
I purchased a new CPU for my PC with the Ryzen 5 5600X, but my motherboard is an A320M GRENADE. It claims compatibility via beta BIOS, so I installed the latest available beta BIOS and connected the new CPU. The system wouldn’t boot, it kept beeping, the screen went black, and it restarted repeatedly. I tried reseating the CPU and updating the BIOS to the second latest beta version, but that didn’t fix the issue. When I replaced the old CPU with the Ryzen 3 1300X, everything worked fine. What’s going on?
Attempting a fresh installation, Windows refuses to accept any hardware modifications.
I discovered that three beeps on the AMI BIOS indicate a Base 64K RAM issue. Does this mean my RAM isn't compatible with the Ryzen 5 5600X? Yet how does it function with the older Ryzen 3 1300X? My RAM is HyperX Kingston KHX2400C15/8G, KHX2666C16/8G, 16GB.
I refreshed the bios to the latest beta and it functioned correctly!
