Good morning,
I recently upgraded my PC and that means I bought a new motherboard, CPU, cooler, and RAM. I’m still using the old GPU, PSU, M.2, SSD, and HDD that were working on my previous system.

Sometimes the computer boots into Windows without the GPU connected, allowing me to use it freely for as long as I like. However, when I plug the GPU in, the CPU LED light turns on briefly, the fan spins for half a millisecond before stopping, and only the RAM RGB lights up afterward.

I’ve updated my BIOS, cleared CMOS, tested another PCIe GPU slot, tried using just one RAM stick in slot 2, removed the CPU and reinstalled it, and checked all PSU connections. I also looked into the B650 motherboard, which seems prone to GPU plugging issues, with many similar reports online.

It’s strange that the PC boots without a GPU, but with one, the CPU LED lights up and it fails to boot.

PC Specs:
Ryzen 5 7600x
Mag TomaHawk B650 Wifi
Crucial 32gb 2x16gb DDR5 6000mhz
PSU 625w
Gtx 1050ti 4GB

I've tested the other PCIe GPU slot. Thanks for the suggestion, anything useful! If not, I'll proceed with an RMA.

I see, you're referring to a 525W unit, specifically the TooQ Extreme Gaming Energy II 525W, which is an 80Plus Bronze model. It seems your GPU isn't connecting properly with your PSU through a cable—it's drawing power straight from the motherboard.

with 430watts available on the 12V lines it should be capable of running your setup, though it is quite low quality and not new, so we will have to put a ?

Completely understand that point. However, I really question if this PSU could have supported an i5 9600k with 32GB DDR4 at 3666MHz two weeks prior, since the same GPU worked well on another system.

The GTX1050ti might need older system compatibility configured in your BIOS.
