PC fails to display video following a crash (attempted write to read-only memory)
I was engaged in a game when my PC abruptly crashed with the error ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY. I recently updated the B450M DS3H to BIOS version F62 and switched my Ryzen 5 2600 to the Ryzen 5 5600X about 15 minutes prior. Now the system boots normally, fans are functioning correctly, RAM is seated properly, and it’s operational. No video appears on either monitor. I attempted a hard boot by pressing the power button for 10 to 30 seconds, but it didn’t shut down. I searched online but couldn’t find any relevant information. Full specifications: Ryzen 5 5600X, AMD RX580, 8GB, B450 DS3H Rev 1, EVGA 500 BR, T-force, 16GB RAM, 1TB Kingston M.2 SSD, 500GB Kingston SSD.
Did you change directly from BIOS version 4 to 62? Some firmware versions indicate you need to upgrade to 32 before proceeding. Although not stated in newer releases, it seems likely that F32 includes an update to the Q-Flash. You may consider downgrading to 32 first, then updating back to 62 again.
