Hi, I remember the situation you described. A few months ago, I set up a new rig for a friend using that specific hardware: Ryzen 9 7900X, Gigabyte X670 Gaming X AX 2, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 at 6000MHz. It functioned initially but later he experienced several blue screens and eventually the system wouldn’t boot at all. After investigation, it seemed stuck during POST tests, with the status indicator remaining active forever. Following advice, I placed RAM sticks in slots A2 and B2. Testing each stick separately in slot A2 worked without issues, but inserting one into slot B2 caused it to freeze again during post. What could be causing this problem?

Have you considered A1/B1 as your benchmark?

I just tried it, but it still doesn’t function properly. Although it isn’t perfect, setting up A1/A2 helps me test both sticks together. I cleared and upgraded to BIOS V using F8a, but the changes didn’t take effect.

The memory controller resides on the CPU. Have you verified its presence in the slots? Have you attempted to re-seat the CPU? Did you try reducing pressure from the cooling base? Inspected the motherboard connector for damaged pins?

I initially thought the "pin salad" was correct, but I didn’t notice any issues under the CPU. I plan to re-examine it tomorrow with improved lighting and a magnifying glass.

I verified all the points you mentioned. The slots are free from any noticeable dust or debris. I also reinserted the CPU to look for bent pins, but there aren’t any visible (see attached photos). Additionally, I reattached the cooler with minimal force. Nothing changed. What seems confusing is that it functioned properly for about three months before problems appeared.

Sure, I can attempt to run the CPU on another system.

It seems you haven't found any other hardware to test it on. You weren't aware of the overvoltage problem but recall enabling EXPO in version f4 before sharing it. Could there have been hidden damage even without visible signs? If yes, reaching out to AMD support for a replacement might be wise.
