I had the 'Media Test Failure' message appear when booting, so i tried to fix the problem by changing the boot mode from Legacy to UEFI. After i did this my computer restarted and would not post, although all the components started up including the HDD which i changed it on. I have already checked ram and taken out the motherboard battery for a good 10 mins. This is also a brand new system that i had booted for the first time yesterday. Here are the pc specs: Cpu: i5 3570 Mobo: Intel DQ77MK Ram: 2x2gb Corsair VS2GB1333D3 Gpu: EVGA gtx 480 Psu: Thermaltake 600w 80+ Bronze HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1tb

You cannot simply change to UEFI mode when the operating system was set up in legacy configuration.

What kind of motherboard are you using? Does it come with a BIOS reset switch? Pushing the power button feels difficult unless you need to. Even after reinserting the battery, it didn’t work. Have you already attempted this?

The motherboard is an Intel DQ77MK and does not have a BIOS reset button. I removed the battery for ten minutes, but I've seen a guide suggesting leaving it out for a longer period (about an hour).

You're right, BobVonBob, I should have checked. Have you attempted reverting to Legacy mode? Also, could you tell me the operating system you're using?

Apologies for the oversight. It seems I missed your previous message. Did you lose access to the BIOS settings now?

Yes, there isn't a screen showing anything, but my monitor can detect the signal.

Make sure the device remains connected for a sufficient duration so the capacitors can fully discharge. Disconnect the power source, detach the battery, press the power switch, and allow 30 seconds to one minute before proceeding.

I've just searched online recently, but it looks like I'm still posting a bit late. Let me know if you need anything else!
