My computer operates normally, but it emits a faint beep just before the power supply clicks off and everything stops. I’m unsure when this began, especially after upgrading my motherboard and CPU. My setup includes a 7800X3D, an MSI B650-P WiFi, an RTX 3070, and an NZXT C650 PSU. I’m unsure how to resolve the issue since there’s no speaker or buzzer on the motherboard, and it seems to originate from the PC itself. I’m confused about what might be causing this problem without any audio input.

Watch this video of the sound I recorded just before the PSU cuts power. You'll need to increase the volume since my iPhone mic isn't great. It occurs right before the PSU shuts down.

are you employing a water cooling setup? I believe it's not a "beep" but rather a relay/fan or something comparable that loses power during shutdown. That's not unusual. It might be related to the power supply unit. Consider switching the zero fan mode on or off at the PSU and see if it resolves the issue.

No, I’m using an air cooler. Just to confirm we’re aligned because it’s faint in the video, there’s a slight chirp sound just before the PSU clicks. It resembles the chirp a smoke alarm makes when it runs low on batteries. I’m not sure where exactly it’s coming from, but it doesn’t seem to be the PSU—actually, the recording was taken near the PSU since I thought it might have been, but the sound in the video is quieter than expected if that were the case. I’m only guessing it could be the motherboard, though I don’t know which part might cause it. I also have an RGB/fan hub with my case, but the only extra component besides regular wiring is a single capacitor. I’m aware capacitors can make a whine, but I’ve never heard one chirp before.

I think I discovered what it is. It could be the capacitor on my fan hub making a noise. When I unplugged the fan hub, it didn’t work when I turned it off. I’ll need to test more tomorrow to be sure. Regarding why it chirps when I shut down the computer, I don’t know. I’m not an electrical engineer. My guess is it might be related to how it receives power directly from the PSU via a SATA cable.
