PC displays blue messages periodically.
Hello! I’m experiencing a problem where my PC randomly shuts down every few days, sometimes while loading games or streaming. It seems to happen on a schedule, though it’s unclear what triggers it. I built this system recently and everything else is brand new—GPU, motherboard, RAM, CPU all provided by a friend. The only components I’ve replaced are the PSU (Corsair Gold Standard), GPU (Nvidia 2060), CPU (i7-12700k), RAM (32GB), and SSD (Samsung 990 Pro). When it blue screens, it restarts into BIOS and doesn’t boot to Windows unless I power it off completely. The PC also freezes briefly before going black and loading BIOS. Let me know if you need anything adjusted.
Boot into windows and launch "Event Viewer". Then navigate to "Windows Logs" --> "System". Go through the event and search for errors or critical events and share your findings here. It is the best place to start and search for possible failure points. Look at the example snap below:
These frequent failures often stem from RAM issues. Have you checked the exact memory installed? Also, have you tried using MemTest86 or a single-drive setup?
This typically indicates a BSOD occurrence: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
Visit C:\Windows\Minidump to see if any minidump files exist. If present, return to the Windows directory and transfer the entire Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if needed). Compress the copied folder and include it in a post. Please adhere strictly to instructions since Windows doesn't allow file manipulation there.
