Hey! I set up this system about two months back, and recently it’s been having problems during gameplay. It crashes intermittently, with the frequency changing based on the title. The more demanding the game, the faster it fails. It works fine when idle. When it stops, you’ll notice a stuttering sound from the game and the display goes dark. All RGB indicators stay active, the CPU indicator stays red on the board, then fades off after a short time before shutting down completely. This happens unless I force a restart.

While gaming, I keep an eye on temps with NZXT Cam. The CPU stays under 65°C, max around 70°C, and the GPU doesn’t exceed 75°C. I haven’t overclocked, XMP or PBO are off, and everything looks normal except for the recurring crashes.

In the Event Viewer there are some warning signs, but they don’t show much until the manual restart. Here’s a link to the crash footage and logs: https://imgur.com/a/XpEahjs. This was just one incident; usually nothing appears in the logs at the moment.

I’ve done a bunch of checks—replaced RAM, re-seated GPU, updated M.2 SSD, ran SFC/CHKDSK, stress-tested with OCCT, reinstalled drivers and BIOS, and tested with a single RAM stick at a time. Still, it keeps crashing after a few minutes of The Witcher 3.

Let me know if you need help interpreting the logs or troubleshooting further!

Disable RAM overclocking via BIOS, use XMP settings or AMD’s name for it. Re-test for crashes. If issues persist, run a memory diagnostic in the same configuration without overclocking to eliminate memory faults. I don’t have the power draw from the AMD GPU, but if you have a stronger PSU, I’d check that next.

Identify the WHEA issue. Check your RAM performance, turn off PBO when applicable, and keep track of both system and processor temperatures.

The issue was resolved after running sfc/scannow, though it reappeared later. PBO and XMP were turned off for testing with OCCT. Thanks!

Have you changed or reinstalled your BIOS yet? It seems like a BIOS problem at first glance.

This might be an entirely separate issue, but I have the most up to date windows-installable NZXT N7 B550 BIOS (BIOS version P1.70). There is also a P1.80 on the NZXT website, but it's only available through instant flash. According to this , I have to perform a FW update before I can update my BIOS via instant flash. When I try to make that update, I get this error message:

Have you attempted a fresh installation? Consider verifying if Instant Flash is available and proceed accordingly. Should that not work, contact NZXT—they remain eligible under their RMA window.

I encountered the same problem while trying to reinstall Windows P1.70 again. The error message appeared consistently, and clicking OK triggered another alert. It seems there might be a broader issue, so I'm reaching out to NZXT for assistance. Thank you for your support!

Alternatively, it might be that you're viewing downloads for the incorrect motherboard.

Contacted NZXT for assistance; they guided me through the update process to ensure the BIOS was current, though the crashing problem persisted.
