Hello everyone,
this community helped me a year ago with a smiliar problem. Hopefully it will work so well again. Thanks in advance to anybody who takes the time to help.
My problem:
PC crashes, mainly during graphic heavy games. First frames per second start dropping rapidly in games. (From 80-100 to 1-20). Then stuttering, sound stutters too, picture freeze, crash. Sometimes the PC seems to gather himself and I can continue playing. But then the PC often crashes when I exit the game and return to Desktop. (Blackscreen) Seems to happen more often nowadays. Sometimes after a crash I cant even restart properly, just black screen, fans go crazy, beeps coming from pc. After couple of minutes I can start the PC normaly.
When not playing video games the crashes dont seem to happen. Replaced the PSU about a year ago, the old (cheap, pre-installed) caused trouble and random restarts of the system)
Already tried updating/deinstalling graphic drivers.
My system consists of:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
TUF B450-PLUS GAMING Motherboard
GeForce RTX 2070S, 8GB GDDR6 / Palit
16 GB Ram (RAM DDR4-RAM - 8GB 3000MHz G.Skill Aegis x2)
SPM SSD M.2 PCIe 2280 - 1000GB Intel 660p
Corsair TX650M
Open to any ideas. Will gladly answer all questions.
Thanks again in advance.
Cheers

Did you encounter similar issues before the PSU replacement or did they begin later?
Should I take a memory stick (place it farthest from the CPU) and check if the problem persists? If not, swap the sticks and repeat. Continue this process with each stick in the dual channel slots. This may help identify if memory is involved.
Have you ever performed an overclocking session? If yes, undo any changes and test without OC.

Thank you very much. Appreciate it.
The issues before changing the PSU were random restarts, which were resolved after switching the PSU. (Recommendation from this forum) Everything functioned smoothly for a while until recently.
I will attempt memory switching and share the outcomes!
I have not overclocked any components on my system.

Quick update, have removed the first stick of memory this morning and so far had no crashes or problems. not completely sure it is just luck but it is looking good. If i keep having no problems today I will switch the one installed right now with the one i have removed (so keeping only one installed) and see how it goes. Il report back, but thanks already for the help!

Morning my friend,
Have you verified if your CPU is overheating? Consider using a free monitoring tool such as https://openhardwaremonitor.org/ to check your hardware. Your cooling system or fan might be faulty, leading to the processor overheating. I experienced a similar issue last month with the same symptoms, and it turned out the water cooling system was defective. Good luck!

Up to now there have been no crashes with memory stick #1 only. It was tested in Slot 2 and Slot 4 initially, thinking the stick #2 might be damaged. So far there have been two crashes with memory stick #2 only. Currently it is being tested in Slot 4, but crashes seem less frequent now, especially during game loading rather than while playing. I will try it in Slot 2 as well. However, it still appears there may be an issue with stick #2, even though its overall performance seems better or at least not perfect when using just this stick. Thanks in advance for your help. It definitely seems related to the memory. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Would it be better to exchange the damaged one? I've already checked that pairs are cheaper than using just one. Could using two in dual channel and one extra be beneficial?

Cheers and all the best

I don't believe the fans have anything to do with it, it seems to be the memory, but thanks for your reply! Cheers

Regarding the next steps, the choice depends on your preferences. If you can obtain a similar replacement, that's the best option. If you're aiming to update or upgrade, consider swapping the pair. You should avoid using just a third stick unless you plan to use four identical ones in dual channel. A third stick is only useful if you need Tri-Channel functionality.

Great, thanks once more for the advice. I think I’ll upgrade my RAM and set both to 32GB (16+16).
Attempted to label the thread as solved but it didn’t work, any chance I can adjust that? Would appreciate your help.
