I changed my PC yesterday from an AMD Ryzen 2600 to a Ryzen 5600g. It still boots fine, but when it tries to overclock automatically it shows black screens and restarts. Here are the details:

Specs:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600g
- MSI B450M Motherboard
- 12GB RAM DDR4
- 480GB M.2 SSD
- 2TB Harddrive
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB Tuf Gaming (OC Edition)
- Corsair PSU VS450 (450w)
- Windows 10 Pro

Previously, the system would auto-overclock the Ryzen 2600 to 3.9Ghz without issues. However, when the CPU auto-overclocks to 4.6Ghz, it crashes. I had to cap it at 4.4Ghz. What could be causing this problem? The motherboard has the latest BIOS updates.

typical problems during cpu replacement on windows include power supply issues, which might be the cause, but there are alternatives to consider.

Did you modify the bios to accommodate the cpu? And were you able to reset the bios information during installation of the new cpu to remove the previous one, from the system registry?

common problems during cpu replacement on windows often involve the power supply unit, but you might want to follow these steps carefully.

I haven't cleared Bios yet, but I have updated to the latest version for it.

Clear the BIOS to eliminate the previous CPU I had installed, as it was automatically switching to incorrect profiles.

I resolved the issue with Bios, but it continues to crash when the turbo is enabled.

Ensure the stable turbo mode voltage is set directly within the BIOS, as the BIOS handles voltage regulation independently of the CPU in turbo auto power configurations.

I'm testing the automatic overclocking feature, which raises the CPU to 4.6ghz. However, if I try to push it further to 4.4ghz, the system simply restarts without freezing. It seems my power supply might be insufficient.

Certainly to tiny for everything it's operating and OC's I'm sorry I didn't account for the factor of all the components plus low power.
