The trines could function too. I also understand duck game works, though it's more effective with four players.

Trine 2, Rayman Origins + Legends... screencheating can be quite entertaining. The final one isn't something you can erase, you compete directly against each other. It's absurd because everyone is hidden, yet you can see others' perspectives and use that to aim precisely. It brings back memories of games like Turok's death match on the N64, where everyone was secretly cheating by watching others. Here you have to do the same just to stand a chance. It's really strange and enjoyable at the same time.

Battleblock theater castle crashers challenge players to explore a spelunky assault scenario with an android cactus. The story unfolds in a gungeon set within the Lego games, featuring a portal to Monaco. In this adventure, you'll encounter left and right 4 dead scenarios, along with references to Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. I also recommend trying the dolphin emulator and checking out Mario games.

Nidhogg is really entertaining*, and the Serious Sam titles offer solid split-screen local play. *I’ve only ever enjoyed it with alcohol around.*

I agree with the Lara Croft idea. The Guardian of Light and The Temple of Osiris were both excellent titles.
