I recently purchased an i5 14600k and an RTX 4070 to upgrade from my old i7 7700k with GTX 1070. I’m looking for recommendations for MOBO and RAM. Since prices in Brazil are roughly double what they are in the US, I managed to buy the more expensive items abroad and now need to source the rest locally. I don’t intend to overclock, so spending on a Z790 chipset seems unnecessary. Could a B760 motherboard affect performance? Regarding RAM, does DDR5 still matter today? I’m planning around 2x16GB, possibly using DDR4. My main use will be gaming—mostly action RPGs, strategy games, and some FPS titles (not online). I’ll upgrade to an ASUS ProArt 32" monitor at 60Hz, prioritizing color accuracy over refresh rate. Thank you ahead of time.

Because you chose an i5-14600K, it makes sense to consider a Z series chipset to enable overclocking.
I don’t intend to overclock, so investing in a Z790 might not be necessary.
It seems a K-series processor wouldn’t be ideal for this purpose. The non-K alternative would have been more affordable. You could still use a B760 chipset and still achieve memory overclocking.
Regarding your memory, aiming for DDR5-6000MHz with tight timings would be suitable.
You should have noted the websites you prefer for purchasing components, as availability can vary by region.

When performing any task, the memory bandwidth would be improved. DDR5 6000 CL30 or 32 or 36 models are usually reasonably affordable. Prices vary based on the motherboard cost. Z790 boards generally offer better VRMs compared to B760 boards. The higher-end B760 boards often match the price of lower-end Z790 boards.

if you aim to cut expenses, search for a DDR4 B760 motherboard and 3200mhz CL16 memory sticks. For SSD: PSU, opt for a 750W ATX 3.0 power supply: PSU Tier List rev. 17.0g - Cultists Network PSU Tier List can assist in picking the optimal PSU from thousands of options available. Whether you're on a budget or seeking top-tier power solutions. cultists.network look for reviews from HWbusters. For air cooler: Thermalright peerless assassin, phantom sprit or Deepcool AK620 Search for a case featuring a mesh front and possibly a typical C front panel connector (verify your motherboard compatibility if needed)
