PC Build Problem – No Screen, Auto-Shutdown, Debug Lights Activating Here I am with my latest setup: power supply MSI MPG A550BN ATX, motherboard MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4, CPU Intel Core i5-13400F @ 2.5 GHz. RAM is 32 GB Ballistix (two 16 GB sticks). Storage includes two SSDs yet not installed. GPU is Sapphire (model unknown). Monitor is GamePower, which works on my laptop. I swapped one RAM module to test, but the issue remains. After installation, on first boot the system briefly flashes debug lights—white → red → black? Then it reboots automatically. Second boot only white, yellow, and green LEDs stay lit, no display at all. Monitor stays in sleep mode. I reset CMOS using a screwdriver on JBAT1 pins as instructed. Power was disconnected, JBAT1 pin shorted with a screwdriver for 10 seconds, then reconnected—still no improvement. Tried booting with or without an Ubuntu USB stick; when inserted, the final LED stays white (manual says “no VGA detected”). Removing the USB changes the sequence slightly but still results in green/white without display. Additional Notes: The PC functioned normally at the shop before. I’m concerned about possible damage during shipping. I used the original cables provided with the PSU. I lack another monitor for straightforward testing. I’ve checked both HDMI and DisplayPort ports, neither works. Questions: Why does the system restart immediately after power-on? Is the fault in GPU, power supply, or motherboard? Is this a recognized issue with the MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4 and i5-13400F? Any recommendations for further troubleshooting? https://download-2.msi.com/archive/mnu_e...-PDDR4.pdf

I didn't mean to forget, but I also thought it through. Same. Green. But cat project display. Now I'm using the laptop with that monitor, and it's working.

I returned to the pc shop again and tried once more. I used my power cable, so that wasn't the issue. There are two chances here. One is my display cable is damaged. The other is that during setup it only works through VGA. Since the shop's monitor uses VGA, it can show the display. Without an SSD. My motherboard supports VGA, but I suspect the CPU prevents any built-in VGA. Also, HDMI didn't work. Previously, with the same cable, HDMI worked on my old system, but not now. Now I can connect a HDMI cable to the laptop and it functions. What I should do next is purchase a new display cable to check if it's broken. If not, I probably need a VGA monitor and a VGA display changer. I also saw somewhere that initially only VGA was supported, but I couldn't find that information. What are your thoughts?

I visited a friend who has two monitors—one Samsung and one Rampage—and both displayed correctly. He used his cable with mine, supporting dp or hdmi, and everything worked. This made me wonder if the issue lies with that particular monitor not being compatible with his BIOS or GPU. Before that, with the same GPU, I could use this monitor too. Now I’m using it with my laptop, added an SSD, and installed Ubuntu. Tomorrow a HDMI converter should arrive from my order. I’ll try connecting it first; if it doesn’t work, I have no other option except to buy a new monitor.

Received the HDMI connection and it functioned, though the resolution remains poor. I’m unsure if using HDMI changed anything. The device displays dual, but likely not a dual setup. A better cable might improve performance. I’ll check the BIOS for settings or an update. The GPU fan isn’t spinning—I didn’t notice it before, but the video didn’t spin either. https://ibb.co/HfPgZ8w4 https://ibb.co/1DBP2fP

After much troubleshooting, I successfully got my display to function. The problem stemmed from AMD GPU drivers on a Radeon 400 series card. At first, I suspected hardware or BIOS faults, but the root cause was driver-related. Solution Steps: Turned off Secure Boot in BIOS to permit third-party drivers, updated with the newest AMD drivers via commands, added the official PPA repository, and installed the corresponding .deb files from AMD. After rebooting, both HDMI and DP connections worked properly across different ports. Key takeaway: Disable Secure Boot in BIOS, use correct AMD drivers from the official source, and test with various connections.
