I was experimenting with CPU and GPU overclocking and encountered several blue screens. I accessed the BIOS to reset everything to defaults, but once back in Windows everything became very unstable—frequent freezing and occasional black screens that required a restart. I was using Windows 11 at the time and recalled needing BIOS adjustments to enable it properly. Even after reinstalling Windows 10 multiple times and updating the BIOS, the problem persisted. I tried reinstalling Windows on different drives, running memory diagnostics, and updating drivers, but the instability continued. I’ve observed the issue resurfacing after installing graphics drivers, though I haven’t confirmed if it’s tied to a specific time or process. Temperatures haven’t been a concern for me.

Hardware: Ryzen 5800x, Asus TUF x570 Pro Wifi, Asus TUF 3080 OC, OC V2, 32 GB XPG D60G RAM, ASUS STRIX 850G

I performed a reset by taking out the CMOS battery for 5 to 10 minutes. If that didn’t help, consider replacing the GPU and testing again, as the black screen could indicate a GPU bond issue. If it returns, press Ctrl + Shift + Windows B simultaneously to refresh your GPU.

I believe my GPU might be failing. Removing the current Nvidia drivers seemed to improve performance on Windows, but a 3DMark test showed low scores—around 1100—while my old 1070Ti scored between 6000 and 7000, usually around 18000.
