yesterday i played TLOU for the second time and it crashed right after loading. when i pressed restart it didn’t work, then i force shut it by holding power. now it either freezes at a black screen before bios, shows a loading circle in windows, or when it boots into windows it behaves the same as in bios. i removed the gpu first, then tried deleting all storage except the boot drive—drives appeared normal. i thought maybe a specific drive was the issue since the hdd light stayed on after it hung. before that, the cmos battery was out and took 5 minutes to replace, but the pc still froze on the reset message. i’m confused about what’s wrong; i suspect the motherboard might be the problem, possibly due to a recent repair that wasn’t done right, causing random reboots and high power usage or sensor/circuit faults for the gpu.
Avoid using the CMOS battery. Disconnect RAM and all storage devices. Wait five minutes. Reconnect every power cord. Inspect all connections and on the motherboard tray. Consider skipping the GPU installation.
