PC becomes hot after increasing speed settings.
My PC struggled with Apex Legends, so I chose to boost its performance using Afterburner. I've adjusted the settings several times without any issues. After a one-hour gaming session, I powered off the machine because it became extremely hot. Once cooled, I restarted it and noticed it continued to heat up during web browsing. The CPU was especially warm, leading me to suspect the thermal paste might be the problem. Replacing it resolved the issue for a week. However, it still felt less efficient compared to my previous setup with better thermal management. Recently, my PC began taking longer to turn on. With an SSD, this is unusual, and the fans are working overtime while I'm just browsing Chrome and Discord. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks for reading!
Did you adjust the temperature limit to 80°C? 90°C makes sense. 85°C is acceptable if you push it a bit. Regarding the case and fan setup, what's the CPU cooler model? Is it mounted properly? Also, isn't the Load Line Calibration set too high? Unless you're using liquid cooling for your motherboard's VRMs or LN2, you shouldn't be setting it above the medium level.
I guess my overclock settings weren't the best. It just the after effects of the overclock. It's overheating for no reasons, just from surfing the internet. I've replaced the thermal paste as well.
The GPU doesn't handle the CPU's temperatures well, staying in the single digits. What cooler do you have and what's your case like?
